  Our Pastors, Deacons & Officers

The Pastor’s Team provides visionary leadership and governance for
                                    the First Baptist Church.

                 Pastor Brandon M. Black

...is the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church. He recently came to us from the Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Paterson where he served as assistant pastor for  nine years.

Pastor Black firmly believes that God works through people - and that God loves to do great things through people that have a sense of eternal purpose, people that cultivate a personal desire for the things of the Lord, people that are never satisfied with "status quo".

Pastor Black and his wife Sharon are Minnesota natives but are blessed with two Jersey girls, Haylee and Katey.  Pastor enjoys old cars, rodeos, reading, and hiking (the NJ highlands).

Pastor Caleb Gibello

...has a passionate desire to see the gospel transform the fabric of society. A lively communicator, he blesses the church with his abundance of energy and ideas.  He is committed to see God’s vision become a reality in the Church. A strategic thinker, he serves as Assistant pastor and gives strategic input into the direction of the church.

Pastor Caleb has a wonderful wife, Melissa, and they love to go on Cruises.

The Lord recently blessed them with a son, Elijah - congratulations, Caleb and Melissa!

The Leadership Team is responsible for planning and leading
First Baptist Church towards the fulfillment of the church vision.

God commanded Christians to be faithful and obedient servants
"And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord with all thy heart and with all thy soul." Deut. 10:12

 Christian service makes life noble.
"But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: and whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister."  Mark 10:43-44

Christians are to leave all to follow Christ
"But what things were  gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea, doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the Excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus, my Lord; for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but refuse, that I may win Christ."  Phil. 3:7, 8

The faithful servant receives honor from God
"If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honor."
John 12:26

The faithful servant has a life of Joy
“And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal, that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
" John 4:36
